2024 CCM 68 FEMALE COMBINE
Congratulations to 6 of our very own 2010 Manitoba All-Stars Players that participated in the CCM 68 Female Combine from August 6 to 10, 2024. This is the second consecutive year that our program has placed our female athletes in the position to be scouted for this prestigious event.
These female athletes should be so proud to be encircled amongst the best 68 female hockey players in their birth year from across North America.
The following is a recounting of what that girls experience was like at this event:
- All of the girls loved their week at CCM68.
- It started with the media day, where they all got dressed up and did their hair for their headshots and group shots. They all received a CCM backpack full of goodies (brand new CCM gloves, CCM Dryland gear - t-shirt and shorts, personalized bag tags, personalized jersey and socks) and a brand new CCM FTW stick! They listened to a few notable speakers as well.
- They were then put through an on-ice as well as off-ice testing. Our own Emilie Bonin and Addison Guertin placed in the top ten on several on ice and off ice performance evaluations. They had a mixed practice with 1 US and 1 CDN team together and 4 games that were Canada vs USA.
- The players were provided breakfast and dinner and the accommodations were at very nice hotels as well.
- Overall, this was the best female hockey that the girls have played to date. It truly was most of the top girls in this age group; there was little discrepancy between skill levels between players. All the coaches were from NCAA Division 1 and 3, and they changed benches everyday allowing the players to experience a different set of coaches.
- The cost of the registration for this event was very minimal for what you get in return. It was totally worth every experience gained.
